حدثنا أبو محمد عبد الرحيم بن عبد الله بن إسحاق السِّمْناني، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن توبة القزويني، قال: حدثنا مصعب بن سلام، قال: سمعت مسعراً، يقول: كنت أمشي مع أبي حنيفة رحمة الله عليه، فوقع على رِجْل صبي لم يره، فقال الصبي لأبي حنيفة: يا شيخ! ألا تخاف القصاص يوم القيامة؟ قال: فغشي على أبي حنيفة، فأقمت عليه حتى أفاق، فقلت له: يا أبا حنيفة! ما أشد ما أخذ بقلبك قول هذا الصبي، قال فقال: أخاف أنه لُقِّن.

Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Isḥāq al-Simnānī related to us. He said: Ismāʿīl ibn Tawba al-Qazwīnī related to us. He said: Muṣʿab ibn Sallām related to us. He said: I heard Misʿar say: I was walking with Abū Ḥanīfa, may God have mercy on him, when he stepped on the foot of a child he had not seen. The child said: ‘Shaykh! Do you not fear retribution on the Day of Resurrection?’ Abū Ḥanīfa fainted. I stayed over him until he recovered and said: ‘Abū Ḥanīfa! How deeply this child’s words affected your heart!’ He said: ‘I fear that he was prompted.’
