حدثنا أحمد بن إسحاق السرخسي، قال: حدثنا أبي، قال: حدثنا المغيث بن بديل، عن خارجة، عن أبي حنيفة، عن أبي إسحاق الهمداني، عن الأسود، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها:أن نبي الله ﷺ كان تصيبه الجنابة من أهله ثم ينام ولا يتوضأ حتى يغتسل من آخر الليل.

Aḥmad ibn Isḥāq al-Sarakhsī related to us. He said: My father related to us. He said: Al-Mughīth ibn Budayl related to us, from Khārija, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī, from al-Aswad, from ʿĀʾisha, may God be pleased with her: The Prophet of God, God bless him and grant him peace, would become ritually impure through intercourse with his wife, then sleep without performing ablution until he took the full ritual bath late in the night.
وقد حدثنا محمد بن الحسن، عن أبي سفيان، عن أبي حنيفة، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم، عن الأسود رحمة الله عليهم:أن عمر رضي الله عنه كان يقول للكاتب: ترّب الصحيفة، فإن ذلك أعظم للبركة وأقضى للحاجة.

Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan related to us, from Abū Sufyān, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, may God have mercy on them, That ʿUmar, may God be pleased with him, used to say to the scribe: “Dust the sheet, for that brings greater blessing and better accomplishes the purpose.”
Dust or sand was used on writing; the instruction itself is retained without expanding the report.

He said: Abū Ḥanīfa related to us, from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, from al-Aswad, may God have mercy on them, who said: I prayed behind ʿUmar for two years and never saw him perform the qunūt supplication in the dawn prayer.
