ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bazīgh

Related to us: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā al-Rāzī Abū Bakr; he said: related to us: Faḍl ibn ʿAyyāsh al-Tustarī; he said: related to us: Yaḥyā ibn Ghaylān; he said: related to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bazīgh, from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him; he said: related to me: Abū Rawq al-Hamadhānī, from Ibrāhīm ibn Yazīd al-Taymī, from Ḥafṣa bint ʿUmar—may God be pleased with her: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to perform ablution, then kiss her while fasting, and go out to prayer without performing ablution again.

Informed us: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd al-Hamadhānī; he said: informed me: al-Faḍl ibn al-ʿAyyāsh ibn Saʿīd al-Tustarī, in his letter to me; he said: related to us: Yaḥyā ibn Ghaylān al-Rāsibī; he said: related to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bazīgh, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī, from al-Shaʿbī, from Masrūq—may God have mercy on them—from ʿĀʾisha—may God be pleased with her—who said: I was granted seven things that the wives of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, were not granted. I was the person dearest to him in myself, and the person dearest to him with respect to my father. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, married me as a virgin and married no other virgin. I had two days and two nights, while his wives had one day and one night. A vindication of me was sent down from heaven, when groups of people nearly perished on my account. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, died in my house, on my day, between my chest and throat.

Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: “No one related it except Yaḥyā ibn Ghaylān.”
