وأخبرنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد الهمداني، قال: حدثني إسماعيل بن الفضل البلخي، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن العلاء بن الضحاك قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش.

And Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Saʿid al-Hamdani informed us; he said: Ismaʿil ibn al-Fadl al-Balkhi related to me; he said: Ibrahim ibn al-ʿAlaʾ ibn al-Dahhak related to us; he said: Ismaʿil ibn ʿAyyash related to us.
حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن أحمد القافلاني ببغداد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق، قال: حدثنا إبراهيم بن العلاء، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش، عن أبي حنيفة رحمة الله عليهم والحجاج، عن قتادة، عن أنس رضي الله عنه:أن عبد الرحمن بن عوف رضي الله عنه تزوج على وزن نواة من ذهب فقال له النبي عليه السلام: «أولِم ولو بشاة».

Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Qafalani related to us in Baghdad; he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq related to us; he said: Ibrahim ibn al-ʿAlaʾ related to us; he said: Ismaʿil ibn ʿAyyash related to us, from Abu Hanifa, may God have mercy on them, and al-Hajjaj, from Qatada, from Anas, may God be pleased with him: ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn ʿAwf, may God be pleased with him, married for the weight of a date stone in gold. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to him: Give a wedding feast, even if with one sheep.
