حدثنا أبو صالح شادِل بن علي السرخسي، قال: سمعت وهب بن زمعة، عن علي عن عبد الله، قال: ما انصرفت إلى سفيان حتى أخذت علم أبي حنيفة في كفي. وضمَّ أصابعه هكذا.

Abū Ṣāliḥ Shādil ibn ʿAlī al-Sarakhsī related to us. He said: I heard Wahb ibn Zamʿa relate from ʿAlī, from ʿAbd Allāh, who said: I did not turn to Sufyān until I had gathered Abū Ḥanīfa’s knowledge in my palm. He drew his fingers together like this.
