Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb

Jayhān related to us. He said: I attended Aḥmad ibn Janāḥ’s funeral. ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṭāhir performed the prayer over him, pronouncing five takbīrs. I heard Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb say: ‘I wished I were in his place.’ Then Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb said: ‘Aḥmad ibn Janāḥ related to us, from Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan,’ and began reading the Small Comprehensive Collection. He had heard the whole Small Comprehensive Collection from Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan.

Jīhān ibn Abī al-Ḥasan related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb related to us, from Ḥafṣ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, may God be pleased with him: The Messenger of God, God bless him and grant him peace, prayed in a single garment wrapped around himself. Some of those present asked Abū al-Zubayr: “The obligatory prayer?” He said: “The obligatory and the non-obligatory prayer.”

Jīhān ibn Abī al-Ḥasan and another related to us. They said: Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb related to us, from Ḥafṣ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū al-Zubayr, who said: I asked Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh: “Did you consider sins to be association of partners with God?” He said: “No.” Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, may God be pleased with him, said: I asked: “Messenger of God, is there a sin in [this] community that leads on to unbelief?” He said: “No, except associating partners with God.”
