Quraysh, qāḍī of Hamadhān and al-Jabal

Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAmrūs related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Budayl ibn Quraysh, judge of Hamadhan and al-Jabal, related to us. He said: My father related to us, from his father, who said: Al-Aʿmash said to Abū Ḥanīfa: “If the matter depended on seeking learning and meeting scholars, I would be more learned in jurisprudence than you. But it is God’s gift.”
