أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد

Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd related to us. He said: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ḥammād ibn al-Ḥārith, Abū Sahl al-Khujandī, related to us. He said: My father related to us. He said: al-Naḍr ibn Muḥammad related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Yazīd ibn Ṣuhayb, may God have mercy on them, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh, may God be pleased with him, who said: I asked him about intercession. He replied: “God, Blessed and Most High, will punish some people of faith, then bring them out through Muḥammad’s intercession, God bless him and grant him peace.” I asked: “Then what of God’s words, Mighty and Majestic: ‘They will not come out of it, and theirs is a lasting punishment’ [al-Māʾida: 37]?” He replied: “This concerns those who disbelieved. Read what precedes it: ‘Those who disbelieved, even if they possessed everything on earth’ [al-Māʾida: 36].”

Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd informed us. He said: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ḥammād related to us. He said: My father related to us. He said: al-Naḍr ibn Muḥammad related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, from Abū ʿUthmān, from al-Ḥasan, may God have mercy on them, from Abū Dharr, may God be pleased with him, from the Prophet, God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Authority is a trust, and on the Day of Resurrection it is disgrace and regret, except for one who takes it with its due right and fulfills what he owes. But how is that to be achieved, Abū Dharr?”
