حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن سوار النيسابوري، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن حرب الموصلي، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن بيان، قال: قال ياسين: كنت أنا وأبو حنيفة عند أبي الزبير المكي، فرأيت من توقير أبي الزبير أبا حنيفة وتعظيمه إياه وإقباله إليه شيئاً عجباً، وما شهدنا معه مجلساً عند شيخ إلا كان هو المقدَّم والمعظَّم.

Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Sawwār al-Naysābūrī related to us: Aḥmad ibn Ḥarb al-Mawṣilī related to us: Yaḥyā ibn Bayān related to us: Yāsīn said: Abū Ḥanīfa and I were with Abū al-Zubayr al-Makkī, and I saw an astonishing degree of respect, esteem, and attention from Abū al-Zubayr toward Abū Ḥanīfa. We never attended a shaykh’s gathering with him without his being given precedence and held in esteem.
