Qurrān ibn Tammām

Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad al-Asadī related to us: Isḥāq ibn Abī Isrāʾīl related to us: Yaḥyā ibn Ādam related to us: Qurrān ibn Tammām related to me: Ismāʿīl ibn Ḥammād related to me: Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him—was among my father’s closest confidants. [My father] would bring out for him material that he did not bring out for anyone else. I did not hear much from my father, being occupied with other things. Later I heard through Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him—from my father what he possessed. Isḥāq said: I heard Yaḥyā ibn Ādam say, ‘Ismāʿīl ibn Ḥammād was an older man who had met the earlier people, but because of his and his father’s inclination toward Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him—he heard from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him.’
