Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad al-Muʿallim

Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Sahl al-Tirmidhī related to us. He said: Ṣāliḥ ibn Muḥammad, the teacher, related to us. He said: Dāwūd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, who said: I said to Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī: “Tell me what ʿAlī, may God be pleased with him, said about ʿUmar, may God be pleased with him, when his bier was brought.” He said: “The person whose record I would most love to meet God with today is the one lying shrouded among you.”
