حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن القاسم البلخي، قال: حدثنا السَّري بن يحيى، قال: حدثنا شعيب بن إبراهيم، قال: حدثنا سيف بن عمر، عن أبي حنيفة رضي الله عنه، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم رحمهما الله، قال: إذا حلف واستثنى واتصل كلامه فهو استثناء.

Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Balkhī related to us: al-Sarī ibn Yaḥyā related to us: Shuʿayb ibn Ibrāhīm related to us: Sayf ibn ʿUmar related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God be pleased with him—from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm—may God have mercy on them both—who said: If he swears an oath and makes an exception, with his speech continuous, it counts as an exception.
