Related to us: Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad; he said: related to us: Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā al-Azdī; he said: related to us: Aṣram ibn Ḥawshab; he said: related to us: Abū Ḥanīfa, from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, from Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Jadalī—may God have mercy on them—from Khuzayma ibn Thābit—may God be pleased with him: He passed a Bedouin who was with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, denying a sale he had concluded with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Khuzayma said: “I testify that you sold it to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, asked him: “How did you know?” He said: “You bring us revelation from heaven, and we believe you.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, therefore made his testimony equal to that of two men.
