Jamīl ibn Ṣubayḥ

Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan al-Tirmidhī related to us. He said: Jamīl ibn Ṣubayḥ related to us in Balkh, from Shabāba ibn Sawwār, from Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd, who said: I passed Abū Ḥanīfa sitting in the sun, with shade nearby. I said to him: “What keeps you from the shade?” He said: “The owner of this house owes me money, and I dislike benefiting from its shade.”
