حدثنا أبو العباس أحمد بن محمد الكوفي، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن إبراهيم بن قتيبة، قال: حدثنا حسن بن زياد بن عمر، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن سالم المكي، عن أبي حنيفة رضي الله عنه، عن عاصم بن أبي النجود، عن زر بن حبيش، عن عبد الله رضي الله عنه: أنه أخذ قملة فدفنها في الحصى، ثم قال: ﴿أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا﴾.

Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad al-Kūfī related to us. He said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Qutayba related to us. He said: Ḥasan ibn Ziyād ibn ʿUmar related to us. He said: Saʿīd ibn Sālim al-Makkī related to us, from Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him, from ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd, from Zirr ibn Ḥubaysh, from ʿAbd Allāh, may God be pleased with him: He took a louse and buried it in the pebbles. Then he said: “Have We not made the earth a gathering place for the living and the dead?”
