وبهذا الإسناد عن أبي حنيفة رضي الله عنه، عن أبي الزبير، عن جابر رضي الله عنه، قال: سأل سراقة بن مالك بن جُعشم النبي ﷺ، فقال: يا رسول الله! أخبرنا عن ديننا هذا لأي شيء نعمل لما قد جرت به الأقلام، وثبتت به المقادير؟ الحديث.

With this chain, from Abū Ḥanīfa—may God be pleased with him—from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir—may God be pleased with him—who said: Surāqa ibn Mālik ibn Juʿshum asked the Prophet—God bless him and grant him peace—saying, ‘Messenger of God, tell us about this religion of ours: for what do we act—for that concerning which the pens have already run and the decrees have been established?’ The account continues.
