حدثنا عمرو بن عاصم المروزي، قال: حدثنا أبو بكر السياري البصري، قال: حدثنا النضر بن محمد، قال: سمعت سفيان بن وكيع، قال: سمعت علي بن مسهر، قال: جاءني سفيان قرب العتمة، فاستعار مني كتاباً من كتب أبي حنيفة لينظر فيها.

ʿAmr ibn ʿĀṣim al-Marwazī related to us. He said: Abū Bakr al-Sayyārī al-Baṣrī related to us. He said: al-Naḍr ibn Muḥammad related to us. He said: I heard Sufyān ibn Wakīʿ say: I heard ʿAlī ibn Mushir say: Sufyān came to me near the time of the night prayer and borrowed one of Abū Ḥanīfa’s books from me to examine.
