كتب إليّ صالح بن أبي رميح، قال: حدثنا عمار بن رجاء، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن أبي طيبة، عن أبيه، قال: حدثنا أبو حنيفة، عن عثمان بن الأسود، عن أبي الزبير، عن جابر رضي الله عنه، أن رجلاً جرح رجلاً فأراد أن يستقيد، فنهى النبي عليه السلام أن يستقاد من الجارح حتى يبرأ المجروح.

Ṣāliḥ ibn Abī Rumayḥ wrote to me. He said: ʿAmmār ibn Rajāʾ related to us. He said: Aḥmad ibn Abī Ṭayba related to us, from his father. He said: Abū Ḥanīfa related to us, from ʿUthmān ibn al-Aswad, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, God be pleased with him, that a man wounded another man, who wished to exact retaliation. The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade exacting retaliation from the person who inflicted the wound until the wounded person had recovered.
