حدِّثتُ عن أحمد بن بكر التاجر، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن صالح عن بعض المشيخة من أهل بغداد قال: وقع بين أمير المؤمنين وبين حرته تشاجر في العدل بينها وبين سائر أزواجه وأمهات أولاده، فحكّما بينهما ورضيا بأبي حنيفة، وذكر الحديث نحوه، وفيه تقديم وتأخير.

It was related to me from Aḥmad ibn Bakr al-Tājir; he said: related to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ, from one of the elders of Baghdad, who said: A quarrel arose between the Commander of the Faithful and his freeborn wife concerning fair treatment between her and his other wives and the mothers of his children. They appointed an arbitrator between them and accepted Abū Ḥanīfa. He mentioned a similar report, with some changes in sequence.
