حدثنا أبو الليث الحارث بن أسد بن الحارث الأسدآبادي، قال: حدثنا معروف بن الحسن الأسدآبادي، قال: حدثنا أبو سليمان موسى بن سليمان الجوزجاني، عن جعفر بن زياد الأحمر، قال: حزر ما قرأ أبو حنيفة رحمة الله عليه في الموضع الذي فارق منزله آخر ما فارقه دون سائر المواضع من منزله، فبلغ ذلك كله مما ختم فيه القرآن سبعة آلاف مرة، قال جعفر: وسمعت أبا حنيفة رضي الله عنه يقول: ما من آية في القرآن إلا وهو رأس قراءة افتتحت بها الوتر.

Abū al-Layth al-Ḥārith ibn Asad ibn al-Ḥārith al-Asadābādī related to us: Maʿrūf ibn al-Ḥasan al-Asadābādī related to us: Abū Sulaymān Mūsā ibn Sulaymān al-Jūzjānī related to us, from Jaʿfar ibn Ziyād al-Aḥmar, who said: What Abū Ḥanīfa—may God have mercy on him—had recited in the spot from which he last departed his home was estimated, excluding all other places in his home. His completions of the Qurʾān there amounted to seven thousand. Jaʿfar said: I heard Abū Ḥanīfa—may God be pleased with him—say, ‘There is no verse in the Qurʾān that has not been the beginning of a recitation with which I opened the witr prayer.’
