Related to us: Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad; he said: related to us: Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā al-Azdī Abū ʿAbd Allāh; he said: related to us: Aṣram ibn Ḥawshab; he said: related to us: Abū Ḥanīfa, from al-Haytham—may God have mercy on them—from Saʿīd, from a man from the Prophet’s companions, may God bless him and grant him peace: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, Abū Bakr, ʿUmar, ʿUthmān and ʿAlī—may God be pleased with them—made the blood money for a person protected by treaty equal to that for a free Muslim.
