حدثنا أبي، قال: حدثنا أسباط بن اليسع، قال: أخبرنا يعقوب بن عثمان، قال: أخبرنا الجارود، قال: حدثنا أبو حنيفة، عن حماد، عن إبراهيم رحمة الله عليهم، أنه قال في أهل الكتاب: إذا شهدتهم فأهلوا لغير الله فلا تأكل، وإذا غبت عنهم فكل.

My father related to us. He said: Asbāṭ ibn al-Yasaʿ related to us. He said: Yaʿqūb ibn ʿUthmān informed us. He said: Al-Jārūd informed us. He said: Abū Ḥanīfa related to us, from Ḥammād, from Ibrāhīm, may God have mercy on them: He said concerning the People of the Book: “If you witness them invoking someone other than God over the slaughter, do not eat. If you were absent from them, eat.”
