منصور بن خالد

I was told from Muḥammad ibn al-Naḍr, who said: Manṣūr ibn Khālid related to us. He said: Abū Nuṣayr wrote to ʿAbd Allāh: “Why do you turn people away from me?” Ibn al-Mubārak wrote back: “Abandon Muqātil’s commentary.” He wrote to him: “You abandon Abū Ḥanīfa’s reports, so that I may abandon Muqātil’s commentary.” Ibn al-Mubārak said: “Silence is the answer to a fool.”
