Manuscripts used
- Süleymaniye Library, Kasîdecizâde 677: described as folios 343b–365b, 24 lines in naskh, with red headings. The copyist is ʿUthmān ibn Aḥmad al-Kafawī. The 1221 AH endowment note is not a copying date.
- Elmalı 2540, subsequently Konya 6862: 23 folios, ending on 23a; 19 lines in naskh, red headings and marginal quotations. No copying date is established from a colophon.
Editorial method
The editors do not know an author’s autograph or a copy checked by him. They select readings between the two witnesses rather than reproducing one manuscript throughout. Their apparatus records variants, references and some identifications. Paragraph divisions, punctuation and vocalisation are editorial.
